Welcome to the IUP Fashion Association Website!
The IUP Fashion Association is the professional student organization for Fashion
Merchandising majors as well as other interested students at Indiana University of
Pennsylvania (IUP). The Association provides students with opportunities for leadership,
service, and education and complements their coursework in Fashion Merchandising.
All FSMR majors are encouraged to join and participate in order to better prepare
themselves for their future career in the apparel industry.
The IUP Fashion Association is guided by faculty advisors who assist elected student officers.
Nominations and elections for new officers take place every Spring Semester; students
interested in running for an elected office should be enthusiastic about a future career in fashion,
able to fulfill the commitments associated with the elected position, and demonstrate their
leadership abilities by taking an active role in the Fashion Association’s diverse activities. |

Each year, the IUP Fashion Association plans and hosts several events beneficial to its members. These include:

--Fall Designer Fashion Show
--Spring Administrative Professional’s Day Style Show and Luncheon
--Annual Study Tour to New York City
--Guest Speakers from the Industry
--Participation in the CREW Satchel of Caring program
--Heels and Flats Mentoring Program
--Social activities and educational trips
--Other activities as opportunities arise throughout the IUP and Indiana community
Members of the IUP Fashion Association are highly encouraged to get involved with the
activities that the organization offers. Student roles in organizing and implementing
Association activities help prepare them for such future careers as stylists,
fashion show coordinators, buyers, visual merchandisers, publicity as promotions professionals,
and product developers. Members are also encouraged to propose and take an
active role in developing new activities and opportunities that will benefit
fellow members of the Association in order to better prepare them for their future careers in fashion.
